Saying I love you in Mandarin Chinese is much easier than you think. The first character you must say is the character for I, or wo (我) which is pronounced with the third dipping tone.
The second character is for “Love” (爱) and is pronounced “Ai”. It is pronounced with the fourth falling tone. The next character is for you and is pronounced ni (你), again, with that third tricky dipping tone. So, when you put it all together you get “Wo Ai Ni”, or 我爱你, or I love you!
